The Resurrection of the Knitted Elephant begins. I was home with the kids and couldn't read on the beach or anywhere I was watching them. So I took up knitting. I was terrible at it. Awful. It took me forever to learn and I burned through the patience of the most patient fellow moms who tried to teach me. I eked out a few ghastly looking animals, like the pig I painted last year, who nonetheless became beloved companions of the children. The elephant, my son's, turned out freakishly long, more like an anteater. In his degraded form he settles into more of an elephant. But I'll have to play with the armature a little, and give him back more of his funny length. I wish now I'd knitted more of them, as I wish I could go back to those beaches and playgrounds and friends' houses, when we were young. Framed Prints, Giclee Fine Art Prints
