Seneca (Onödowá'ga) artist · paintings of small beings, great blooms and ancestor stories
I was raised with the understanding that all things have their own being: the maples letting go, the geese passing over, even a child's knitted pig. My paintings are meetings with that life. In oil, watercolor and casein, I paint beings among flora and people, and the stories of my Onödowá'ga (Seneca) ancestors. Orenda, the living force in everything, is what I think, feel and work my way to experiencing. My Seneca name, Ganä:gah:is, means One Who Splashes Water; Splashingwaters is named for it.
